AFI 2 Meeting in 2008
The international workshop took place in Hamburg (Germany) on November 25 and November 26, 2008. It was the follow up meeting to the Declaration of Amsterdam on a Code of Conduct to reduce fraud and irregularities in organic trade.
The 7 main principles of the Code of Good Organic Practice were established on the meeting by 22 processing and trading associations and individual companies. AOEL/Germany, Probila/Belgium, Synabio/France and VBP/The Netherlands, all united in the IFOAM EU Sector Group Organic Processing (SGOP) took the responsibility to elaborate the seven main principles of the Code by a practical toolbox, which gives direction to the practical implementation of the principles into the individual companies.
The Code of Conduct for certifiers, an initiative of the EOCC, has been largely completed will be signed during Biofach 2009.
